Weightlifting Polish Championship
poniedziałek, 12 lipiec 2010
On the 27th of June, women's weightlifting Polish Championship took place in Pulawy - a second weightlifting contest Aneta participated after her 8-years break (refer to the last article). We won't tell you too much if we say, that she didn't succeed like in strongwoman competitions, however the course of the event was very interesting. Read more about this from her coach (in both disciplines):

It was a contest of great comebacks - of Dominika Misterska, Agata Wrobel and Aneta Florczyk. Dominika's and Agata's shape was commonly known, however no one could guess what are Aneta's current results. Her personal best was 8 years old - it was stated at the Polish Championship and it was 87,5kg in snatch and 105kg in clean & jerk. Agata and Dominika had only 2 years of break, but their results in Pulawy were different from their personal bests (about several dozen kilograms less).

After 8 years it was for Aneta like learning weightlifting from the very beginning. We were sure the contest will take place at fall - as usually - so Aneta had begun only basic preparations a month before event. Agata and Dominika had been preparing for about 6 months.

After all Aneta was among the favourites for 75kg weight category, but unexpectedly a well-known Polish representative was also registered for the category - Ewa Mizdal. Now the possibility of winning the contest by Aneta lessened significantly. It even turned out that she was the lightest among the podium pretenders.

It was all going well during the warm-up. The plan was simple - to repeat the attempts of Aneta's main rival, Malgorzata Wiejak. Aneta started with 80kg, snatched very dynamically but then surprisingly the bar fell behind her, probably pulled too violently. As Aneta still had a lot of strength left, we decided to do the second attempt with 83kg (which would gave her second or third place). Unfortunately she made the same mistake, while her rival passed the attempt and registered 85kg for the next. Aneta was still hoping to struggle for the highest trophy, so she also proposed 85kgs. She might even wanted to win too much - or was it just her 8-years break? - because she also didn't pass. Although other couches advised that she should START with 85kg...

Fortunately in weightlifting snatch and clean & jerk are classified separately, plus the failures give Aneta the biggest motivation. She decided to stick to the same plan in clean & jerk and this time did all the attempts easily and without faults, resulting with 100, 103 and 104kg. Thus she became a vice-Champion of Poland in clean & jerk.

If Aneta did the snatch, she'd became a vice-Champion in both snatch and clean & jerk. Her result in points will be better then Agata Wrobel' s, who is two-time Olympic Medalist and the strongest, most titled Polish woman weightlifter.

She'll be back - the revenge is planned for this year.
